I had the day off from exercise today, but I couldn’t help but find myself thinking ‘the weather is so perfect, I should be out doing something’. Instead I turned my focus to my housework, and did a good clean (some areas of the house, like the playroom, have been forgotten about in recent weeks).
Tonight we decided to try Roast Kangaroo. It was cooked just beautifully. My husband is the kind of person who doesn’t like things that are different from the familiar (he hates trying new foods). So when it came to trying Kangaroo meat, I thought it would be something he would have trouble with. It has been the opposite in fact. He walked past the kitchen just as I had carved the meat, took a piece, and threw it down the hatch. I, however, am having a little bit of trouble with Kangaroo meat. The roast tonight was marinated with herb & garlic. Kangaroo meat definitely has its own flavour, but it’s not unpleasant – just different. It wasn’t overcooked or tough, and it was in fact quite nice, but I seem to be having a problem with it on a more of a mental level. As I am eating it I am enjoying it, it tastes nice, and then I start thinking about the fact that it is Kangaroo… and then it gets hard to swallow. I still have a few serves of Kangaroo meat in the freezer, so I’ll definitely give it a few more tries.

Brecky – serve of baked beans with 1/2 gluten free bread roll
Morning Tea – Few mixed nuts
Lunch – Tuna, cheese, lettuce, tomato, capsicum, cucumber and a squeeze of mayo on white bread sandwich
Afternoon Tea – a mandarine
Dinner – Roast Kangaroo with roast pumpkin, carrot, beans, broccoli, zuccini, peas, mushroom and 1 slice of garlic bread
Just a quick entry tonight as it is the season finale of ‘So You Think You Can Dance – Australia’, so I plan to sit and watch that and enjoy some snickers bar that is left over from Easter – it has been in the fridge all that time!! I am really looking forward to it! YUM.
