Today is the last day in my third week. I can definitely see the changes since first starting, and even earlier on in the week I was feeling “smaller”, however today I just feel like I always have. I don’t know if it is because I am now used to the changes that have happened so far, or if it is because I am going to get re-weighed tomorrow and perhaps am feeling a bit apprehensive about that. It could even be that I know I have not drunk quite enough water over the last couple of days which could be making me feel ‘heavy’. Who knows! I certainly hope to have another good weight loss this week. I am aiming for around .5kg – I think that is achievable and reasonable.
My beautiful Mum came over this afternoon and we headed out for a walk. I was planning on doing some jogging intervals today, but as I set out on my first run, I noticed my knee was hurting a little. I don’t believe that this is from training. If it was from doing a bit of running over the past few days, I would have felt it during or after those runs. I think that it is from shopping today.
Yes, that’s right! The strenuous activity of SHOPPING. You see, there was this woman about the same size as me, and we both approached a sale rack at the same time. We were both shuffling through the rack trying to find a bargain before the other got their hands on it. Then I spotted this gorgeous, black, plunge neck, knit top – exactly what I was looking for! I reached for it to take it from the rack, but there was resistance – someone was pulling it from the opposite side of the rack! It was – the other woman! She should have just let it go, but no – a full on fight broke out in the middle of the shop, between myself and this other woman and in the process I twisted my knee! I suppose you want to know who won?? Well, it was no-one! I made it all up! There was no fight, there wasn’t even a gorgeous, black, knit top! Nothing like a bit of fantasized drama to entertain myself – hahahahahah! The real reason is no where near as entertaining so I decided to spice it up a bit – did it work?? It was actually out of trying to make things “easier” for myself that I hurt my knee – I didn’t even know I had aggrivated it until I went to exercise this afternoon. Here is what really happened… The only child we had with us today was the baby, and we decided not to take the pram – “we’ll just carry her, it will be ok”. And it was… at first. As the day went on, I could really start to feel it in my arms, and then I started to really rely on my hips to take the bulk of her weight (not that she is a heavy baby). As most women do when nursing a little one on their hip, you put majority of your weight on the side that you are holding the baby… putting strain on your hip, knee and ankle joints. No fights at all – I really am a lover, not a fighter! This was the first time I have felt unable to exercise due to pain. So after that first run, I decided to save my knees for my training session tomorrow. I will get in tonight and do a good few stretches – I think that will help heaps. (I hope I haven’t offended anyone with my little tall tale – it is not in my nature to lie normally)!
